The head of the family, John, has spent a lifetime "scrapping" from remote West Australian mine sites, thus developing a wonderful collection of memorabilia which the family have used and displayed creatively throughout the grounds. Johns experiences have also been capture in his poetry, on sale in the shop and developed into plays by friend Hellie Turner and performed in the big shed.
His wife Jude, used these travels in the bush to develop and explore her passion for the West Australian wildflowers. The result is a large collection of beautiful, bold lino cut prints which can be viewed in her Gallery. In the "Shop", Jude has taken these images further, creating a unique collection of fabrics, wallpaper and greeting cards, which are stunningly beautiful.

Tass 1 Trees
Tass 1 Trees was established in 2002, where a small variety of mainly citrus trees were produced. In 2004 a decision to relocate was necessary to expand both the varieties and the volume of trees produced.
Now settled in the Swan valley I have been able to turn what was a labor of love, into a nursery producing 1000`s of plants per year.
Tass 1 Trees not only sell fruiting plants from all over the world, many of which are unusual, but also a wide range of ornamentals, natives, and exotics. Always trying to produce as many varieties as we can, some are purchased both locally and interstate.
Garden ornaments, wine barrels whole or half make a great feature in any garden or court yard.
Tass 1 trees, offers some of the cheapest prices in Perth. With the stock changing constantly there is always something to please. We also offer free home delivery for large purchases in the metro area. Double grafted fruit trees are also in great demand and with enough notice we can graft your favorite fruits together. They include most citrus combinations, and plum combinations, peach nectarine and apricots can also be combined together.

The Hope from Ashes auction will run online in the build up to the benefit concert and will continue just beyond. This online auction will raise awareness and funds and give people the opportunity, maybe people who live far away from Toodyay as well as close by, by bidding on donated items to encourage businesses and individuals that have contributed and Toodyay people who are rebuilding after the fire.
We have tried to gather together a range of diverse and high quality items and services that in some way reflect the diversity and creativity of the Toodyay community. In finding a gift for yourself you will be giving to the Toodyay community and we hope the excitement and high energy of the auction will be uplifting and inspiring it its way.
The auction has the Hope From Ashes flavor celebrating and demonstrating the generosity, positivity and support that has flowed so readily for and within the Toodyay community.
As well as people from Perth many local Toodyay businesses and individuals have also contributed to the auction, some although deeply affected by the fires through loss of home or workplace. Artworks, craft items, trips away fantastic meals and even life coaching sessions, massages, motoring items, clothing and collectors plates are just a few of the amazing items we can offer you. Western Bulldog has very kindly donated a signed Western Bulldogs Guernsey. It has been signed by five players who have played 300+ games (Brad Johnson, Chris Grant, Dougie Hawkins, Scott Welsh and Rohan Smith). There is only five of these nationally , so quite unique.
Alexander Moore – Toodyay Artist and generous donor for Hope From Ashes Online Auction
“Alexander Moore” ( Nom de Peint) was born in Dundee Scotland and emigrated to Australia in 1972. he has lived and worked in Toodyay for the last 13 years and paints from his studio there. Moore has undertaken no formal studies in art and is entirely self taught. He has painted in various styles for the past 45 years and regards some of the Old Masters as his tutors. The greater part of the last 10 years has been spent in research and development of new ideas and the Inner Space Collection featured in exhibition at the Moores Building in Fremantle in 2009 is an example of this.
Moore lost his studio, next to his home, many materials and artworks in a fire in October 2008. He was one of the first to offer items for the auction even though he and his wife are very much in the throes of clean up on their own property that was affected by the December Toodyay Bushfires in 2009.
Moore has generously donated two art works to the online auction to raise awareness of the situation and he says “to give something back”.
He has donated two art works from the Inner Space collection both depicting sunrises ( 92cmx123cm). Other artworks from the Inner space collection have sold for over A$5000.
The Inner Space artwork is called Sunset Eucla 0725hrs 29/11/08. This work is inspired by the sun and its purpose to reveal the physical reality behind our instantaneous perception of the visual world.
In the inner space collection Moore explores the visual perception process from the retina to the brain, taking the viewer on an almost spiritual journey into the ordered chaos of inner space. Moore states he is merely presenting an alternative view of how the brain can perceive the physical world as provided by nature.
Moore states that the Eucla coast is unique place to study light phenomena because of the rapidly changing weather conditions and the pristine environment, it allows he states for the physical and spiritual business of becoming aware and in tune with nature in amore profound way.
Sunset at Eucla is time specific, the time and date relating to the when the initial sketches were made, the painting itself then being complete over following weeks and months.
Perth Football Club are happy to donate a signed Guernsey and complimentary room hire. One of our players, Michael Patching’s family lost everything in the fire and the Perth Football Club are going to Toodyay on Saturday to help were they can; provide a bbq and run a football clinic.

He is always happy to discuss your motoring needs.
Bruce Sharman has long had a passion for motoring and classic and vintage vehicles. He is a member of several car clubs around Australia and the UK and participates in online discussion forums to continue to develop and pass on his knowledge.

Phillip Walley Stack Phillip Walley-Stack was born in Yarloop, Western Australia, he is an Aboriginal man from the Nyoongar region of WA. Phil is an Indigenous Artist he is part of the Middar Aboriginal Group, and has been performing with Middar and as a solo artist for a number of years. Phil has performed at numerous events and festivals both internationally and nationally and has worked with Schools, tourism companies, community groups and many high profile businesses.
Phil's aim is to take his knowledge of Indigenous culture into the wider community to increase cultural awareness and give non Indigenous people an appreciation and understanding of Indigenous culture. Phil's passion for Indigenous culture and knowledgeable yet entertaining style make him a captivating performer.
