"Some people give time, some money, some their skills and connections, some literally give their life's blood. But everyone has something to give."
-Barbara Bush-
We want to send a message of hope to our community after the devastating bushfires – it is also a celebration of life.
Although 38 homes were lost, and 3000 hectares of land burnt, not one life was lost. This is something we want to acknowledge and celebrate.
The management team is made up of local residents – from Amiya Hands of Hope inc & Toodyay Baptist Church – who got together and questioned what could be done to help the local community by way of raising community spirit and offering emotional support. It was decided that a Benefit Concert would not only raise much needed funds – but it would also bring the community together in healing and celebration .
The money raised will be deposited into the Bendigo Bank Bushfire appeal which will be used appropriately to help people recover and rebuild.
As soon as people heard about the idea we were overwhelmed by offers of support, assistance, time, energy, money and services to help this Benefit Concert go ahead. These offers came from far and wide – the local community and also people all over the state. Everyone from the Shire council to the local police, local business and the people on the street have been working tirelessly to make this happen.
